ABOUT US
I was first taught how to knit by my grandmother (who sadly passed away at the grand old age of 106 earlier this year!) when I was around five years old. I didn't pick up my pins again until years later, when I became pregnant with my first child, and then went on to teach myself crochet too, using books and YouTube videos.
I then started working for Cygnet Yarns and, before long, I was having a go at pattern design and soon got promoted as their in-house designer. I adored my time at Cygnet - I got to do everything from running the social media, to selecting new yarn ranges and shades, and designing the branding. Not to mention the pattern design.
Since leaving Cygnet, I've been working for a large educational corporation, and I felt I was losing my creative juju, so here I am, back in the yarn game! I'm super excited to have just opened my new permanent bricks-and-mortar shop in beautiful Todmorden Market Hall!
I have two kids, my son, Edward, aged 12, and my 15-year-old daughter who has just started studying for her GCSEs! So between juggling the little people, a full-time job and managing a household containing a crackers sprocker and three cats, surely I've got time to run a yarn shop!
