Hi! I’m Alexie, chief yarn hoarder, tea drinker and professional juggler of chaos.

I first learned to knit when I was about five, taught by my wonderful grandma — who, by the way, made it all the way to 106 (clearly, knitting keeps you young). I didn’t actually pick up my needles again until years later when I was pregnant with my first child… and then, naturally, went down the crochet rabbit hole too. (Thanks, YouTube tutorials, for the accidental addiction.)

Eventually, I ended up working for Cygnet Yarns, where I got to do all the fun stuff: designing patterns, picking new yarn ranges and colours (the dream), running the socials, and even helping with branding. Basically, I was living my best yarn life.

Fast forward a bit — I took a detour into the world of education, where my creative spark started quietly sulking in a corner. So, I decided it was time to dust off the needles and dive back into the yarn game!

Now I’m the very proud owner of my own yarn shop in Todmorden Market Hall — full of colour, squishiness, and probably too many half-finished projects behind the counter.

When I’m not chatting yarn or accidentally starting another WIP, I’m busy wrangling my two kids (Edward, 12, and my teenage daughter, 15 — send help), a bonkers sprocker, and three cats who think they own the place. Because clearly, running a household and a shop just wasn’t quite enough chaos.

Welcome to my little yarn-filled corner of the world — I’m so glad you’re here. ❤️
